Strategic Research Board
The Strategic Research Board (SRB) was set up in November 2009 to oversee Qatar Foundation’s (QF) overall research strategy.
Established by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the SRB reviews and monitors all QF research programs, setting clear targets and ensuring coordination and integration.
The first phase of the SRB’s work was to set up a series of of academic research programs, with Priority given to educational undergraduate studies.
The second phase is to establish centers of excellence in Qatar for basic, applied, and technological research.
SRB Members
The SRB meets on a quarterly basis and is chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser with Dr Fathy Saoud, President of Qatar Foundation, serving as the Vice Chairperson. SRB members include select representatives and advisors from the various research bodies in Qatar.
QF’s Research Division, which acts as the Secretariat of the SRB, reviews new research programs and activities and develops the necessary processes and procedures.
