On Tuesday, May 31st, Grade 12 students of Qatar Academy received their high school diplomas at the graduation ceremony. These students have completed their two year programme of study in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
The ceremony was graced with the presence of The Emir, HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned.
The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Hana Kanan, the Deputy-Director of Qatar Academy. The guest speakers was Sheikha Hanadi Nasser Bin Khaled Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director, Amwal. Shiekha Al Mayyassa Al Thani, delivered the Alumni speech, who herself graduated from Qatar Academy four years ago.
The diplomas were conferred by Qatar Academy's Director, Dr. Leo Ruberto. Prizes for the Valedictorian, Salutatorian, The Principal's Award, the (E)CIS Award and top students in English, Modern Languages, Humanities, the Sciences, Math, the Arts, Athletics and Service were presented by the Head of the Senior School, Dr. Paul Raschke, and the Assistant Head of the Senior School, Peter Laszuk.
The school choir opened the evening and offered a musical interlude during the ceremony.
These students will study all around the world next year, ranging from universities in Doha to others in the Gulf Region, the UK, and Canada.
