QATAR LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Qatar Leadership Academy is a boarding school for boys that promotes excellence in four key areas of academic studies, leadership, heritage and Islamic studies, and sports. Located in Al Khor, in the north of Qatar, QLA is the result of an innovative partnership between Qatar Foundation and the Qatar Armed Forces. It was founded in August 2005.

Its unique educational experience emphasizes academic excellence, leadership, and moral values. Its belief is that through discipline, self-discipline, time management, perseverance and dedication, its cadets will be well prepared for future leadership roles.

The curriculum, taught in English, follows the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Grades 11-12, which prepares cadets for higher education in Qatar and overseas. QLA is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme (for Grade 6 - 10), and follows international programme modeled on the IB Middle Years Programme.

The Academy's leadership program aims to develop the potential of every cadet by building self-esteem and self-discipline. The Islamic studies program provides instruction in Islamic values and Arabic cultural heritage, whilst encouraging inquiry into other cultures. Cadets have the opportunity to learn about and experience local fine heritage through study areas as: falconry, camel riding and horse riding, marine heritage, Majlis and Arda.

Graduates have the opportunity to continue their studies at local and overseas international universities, or to pursue military careers in the Qatar Armed Forces, or other internationally recognized military colleges.

From Saturday evening to Thursday evening, cadets live on campus giving them more time to successfully undertake QLA's challenging program.
