HOUSING LOTTERY

Understanding the Housing Lottery and important dates:-

• Spring Semester - The housing lottery takes place early in the spring semester and is for students who currently live on campus and would like to reserve a room for the following academic year. 
• This year we will be using eRezLife which is  a new assignments software program to help you and us pick and assign your rooms with greater ease.
• eRezLife System will open for applications to be submitted on 14 February 2010 - All students intending to return to the residence halls for the following academic year must fill out the housing application for returning students by logging in to the new eRezLife System and submit it on line. A completed application must be submitted not later than 28 February 2010.
• Residence Fee - By 1 May 2010 students must pay a QR1000 reservation fee to reserve and guarantee their chosen residence hall room for the next academic year. This reservation fee is refundable until 10 June 2009. 
• There will be no squatting privileges this year. As this 'Squatting' process will ineffective for this coming year.
• If residents are unable to find enough roommates, then the students will need to attend one of the roommate mixers nights in order to find out his/her preferred roommates.
• Roommate mixer nights will be held on 22 February and 24 February 2010 for students who need either to choose or to readjust roommate group.
• After completion of the housing applications, students will be notified if their preferred choice was successful. 
• Students must be present to take part in the housing lottery. However, if for some reason they are unavailable, they must complete a proxy form to send with their proxy to the housing lottery or room squat to indicate that the proxy may make housing decisions for them. A student may serve as a proxy for one other student only, and not for multiple students. 
• 1 May 2010 - Students must each pay QR1000 reservation fee to reserve & guarantee their chosen residence hall room for the next academic year. 
• 10 June 2010 -The reservation fee is refundable until this date and by this date any cancellations must be received in writing, (emails to housing@qf.org.qa with a carbon copy to fabujazer@qf.org.qa are acceptable), in order to be eligible for the refund of the QR1000 reservation fee. The QR reservation fee may not be refunded after this date.
