COMMUNITY LIVING STANDARDS

Housing and Residence Life is committed to providing an environment conducive to the holistic development of our residents. We try to create and nurture this environment by encouraging a balance between respect for the rights and interests of the individual, and that of the community as a whole. The diversity of our resident population is such that we expect all members of the residence hall community-residents, staff and visitors to show respect and consideration for those around them.

Our preferred approach to developing responsible behavior by and amongst residents is through advising, counseling and positive examples. Where these approaches are not successful or inappropriate, the discipline and judicial processes described in the Community Living Standards (English) & Community Living Standards (Arabic) are designed to enforce adherence to our rules and community standards. These regulations are intended to protect the interests of affected individuals, as well as the interests of the community at large.

Disciplinary situations are handled on a case-by-case basis. Given the individual nature of each situation, there is no set list of mandatory sanctions attached to specific violations.
