THE LEARNING CENTER

The Learning Center (TLC) was founded by Qatar Foundation in 1996 as a program offering instructional services, diagnostic consultation and therapeutic services to students who experienced academic difficulties.

The Learning Center School (TLCS) was established in 2002 to fully support students in grades one through twelve who face challenges in their academic achievement. Offering an Alternative Educational Plan, small class sizes and best practices in teaching, TLCS carries out Qatar Foundation's philosophy of fully developing each individual's capabilities.

Students are provided with an appropriate and supportive educational setting in which they can successfully advance academically, emotionally, physically and socially. TLCS students are enabled and encouraged to reach their full potential and to develop the necessary understanding and skills to move forward as productive global citizens.

TLCS held its first commencement in 2006 with graduates currently studying at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar, the College of the North Atlantic, the Academic Bridge Program and post-secondary programs abroad.

TLC continues to offer services through outreach programs such as professional training, lectures, and parent and community information sessions which serve to promote public understanding and knowledge of current research in child development, teaching and parenting techniques.
